About Joe Holmes
Joe Holmes is an American Hard Rock and Heavy Metal musician best known for his work as a touring guitarist for David Lee Roth and Ozzy Osbourne.
Holmes began playing guitar at the age of 9 and would later become a student of guitar legend, Randy Rhoads. It was that early influence that shaped his playing, writing style and sound that laid the foundation for the opportunities that lied ahead.
In 1991, Holmes joined David Lee Roth for the 'A Little Ain't Enough' tour and went on to play guitar for the Ozzy Osbourne touring band from 1995-2000.
In 2015, Holmes launched his first solo record, titled Farmikos with songs written by Holmes, Brent Hoffort, and Robert Locke. The Farmikos album features vocals by Locke and contributions from bassist Robert Trujillo his Ozzy touring bandmate, drummer Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Avenged Sevenfold), and guest vocals and lyrics by Benji Webbe (Skindred, Dub War) on the song Fragile.
In December 2024, the release of 'Cross Eyed Stare', was the first single from Holmes self-titled album. This record written by Holmes and his long-time writing partner, Brent Hoffort, again features his musical bond with Robert Trujillo (Metallica) and Mike Bordin (Faith No More) from the Ozzy Osbourne touring band with Robert Locke on vocals. Both of Holmes solo records were co-produced by Holmes and Rich Mouser and were recorded and engineered by Mouser at the Mouse House in Altadena, CA.
Now, continuing under his own name, Holmes is set to release his new album Joe Holmes on June 5, representing the next chapter in his career and creative evolution.
